Title borrowed from the famous film of the same name. This trio band was performing in Republic Street, Valletta – behind them you can see a plaque commemorating the laying of the first stone of a new block of buildings. A crowd of people was circling them but the music urged me to check out what was going on. Their beautiful multi-feathered folklore costumes and an inscription on a board they set up showed they came from somewhere in the Andes region of South America – very unusual for Malta, I must say. Their music with their cane instruments was so fantastically melodious.
Nice capture Dione! I could almost be sure this is group is from northern Mexico ....or even American Indians. Colorful costumes!
Thank you for your frecuent comments on my blog.
Lovely presentation. I've seen costumes similar to this on natives from Equador. I imagine there are many Indians in all those South American countries. I like the musical notes and framing.
Lovely photo Dione. Do you think it was Peruvian music? We often get a group like this playing in the shopping areas here and those are from Peru. Beautiful music too.
Thank you all sooo much for your lovely comments. I cannot say from where this trio comes but a notice they had put up (not in the picture) said something about the Andes Mountains.
