A short break from my picture narrative of our vacation in Valle d'Aosta.
The Sunday before last was the feast of St Julian, the patron saint of the village of St Julians, named after the saint. St Julians is an old fishing village at the end of the Sliema waterfront promenade which has been turned into a tourist hub with hotels, entertainment and eating places everywhere.
I took this shot while walking down to the waterfront. The procession with the statue of the saint had just passed by and was entering one of the old narrow side streets of the parish. The statue is followed by the band playing joyful music. People, mainly tourists, are watching the goings on and taking pictures. Another band was at the same time marching along the waterfront playing its own music.
