From my 19th March album. Apart from visiting the Domus Romana, just outside Mdina, and the feast of St Joseph in Rabat, which is actually a suburb of Mdina, we spent some time in this beautiful medieval city, the former capital of Malta.
This is the bridge to the city and the Main Gate built on the design of Charles Francois de Mondion in 1724. This is not the original gate which was 5 metres to the left and can be noticed in the picture just behind the two persons.
Mdina is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely and very informative comments on yesterday's picture.
