Another short video for you from the feast of St Gregory.
This is what we Maltese call ĠIGĠIFOGU. Pron: jig-jee(as in jeep)-fog-u (as in good), the word probably comes from the Italina phrase ‘gioco di fuoco’ or literally translated ‘play of fire’.
To me, it is impossible to capture the atmosphere and feel of this type of fireworks in a single shot so I used the video setting in the camera. Unfortunately for us onlookers the wind was blowing inland and we, as well as the fireworks patterns, were covered with smoke. I gave up half way through the show. In this short video I am showing five of the many patterns that were on display.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
Love how they go round and round - you could see by the trees blowing the wind you were dealing with - these are really first class fireworks - so different from those I've seen before - captured very nicely.
This is fabulous Dione. I love the glimpse of other photographers we get, the reflections of the water in the background plus, of course, the great firework patterns. I could see that smoke could be a problem. Fav
