Shot taken on 30th June – the 5th day of our vacation to the Black Forest. Best viewed enlarged, if you have time – thank you.
I like how this shot came and I think I have surpassed my processing abilities in putting it up.
The square in front of the Strasbourg cathedral is not large enough to take a full shot of the whole façade. I tried three shots in line for the lower part and another three shots in line for the upper part intending to merge them altogether but the merge option on Photoshop wouldn’t take them. So I patiently stitched parts of each shot together manually to get a full view. I had to make modifications on the perspective of each shot to bring them in line with each other. Then I changed the picture to sepia. It was a great challenge and I am very happy with the result.
Today is a public holiday in Malta for the feast of Santa Maria. I went to Mosta yesterday , one of the places where the feast is celebrated. Took many shots so wait for some spectacular fireworks in the coming days.
Joke: In a small cathedral a janitor was cleaning the pews between services when he was approached by the minister. The minister asked the janitor, "Could you go into the confessional and listen to confessions for me? I really have to go to the bathroom; I’ll be back in no time. There isn’t any serious repentance in our village, so just give 10 Hail Mary's to whoever comes." Being the helpful sort, the janitor agreed. The janitor was doing fine until the Widow McGee came into the booth and started her confession. "Oh Father, I fear I have done the unforgivable. I have had outside-marriage sex." Stunned, the janitor had no idea how to handle this situation. Surely 10 Hail Mary's would not do. So, he ran out of the confessional to the sacristy and found Father Paul and asked "Father , what does you give a lady for outside-marriage sex?" In reply Father Paul asked: “Is the lady pretty.” “Well, so and so,” replied the janitor. “Then a sterling should be enough,” replied the father.
You did an amazing job on this Dione! I remember studying this cathedral many years ago because the doors were so distinct. Beautiful capture (or should I say stitching?)! fav
It does kinda look a pyramid due to the perspective. :)
