Shot from the 2nd day of our Sicily holiday – 20 September.
I woke up at sunrise and decided to put on some cloths and go out with the camera – very unusual for me as I never do this at home. The fact is that our agro-tourism lodging in Stazzo was barely 5 minutes walk from the seashore and there was a lovely short promenade to walk along. So I sneaked into my cloths trying not to wake up Christine – I didn’t even bother to comb my hair - and off I went. It was such a beautiful walk that I took this every subsequent day of our stay there.
The sunrise was gorgeous. I have preferred posting this shot in b&w for the dramatic sky and clouds.
Joke: It was the custom for Doris, a devout catholic to wake up very early in the morning and go to church for the first mass of the day. This time she took her little boy, John, with here not without a lot of grumbling from John for having to wake up so early.
In church John started to feel sick so he said: 'Mummy, can we leave now?'
'No,' his mother replied, 'the service isn't over yet.'
'Well, I think I'm about to throw up.' John announced.
'Then go out of the front door and around to the back of the church and throw up behind a bush.' said Doris.
After about sixty seconds, John returned to his pew, alongside his mother.
'Did you throw up?' John's Mum asked quietly.
'Yes,' John answered, embarrassed.
'How could you have gone all the way to the back of the church and returned so quickly?' Doris demanded.
'I didn't have to go out of the church, Mummy. They have a box next to the front door that says, "For the Sick".'
Many thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
