Safely home.....lots of thawing in a couple of days away....and unpacked some goodies from Mum.
Nearly 86 and still makes her own marmalade every January! Hope I have her stamina and zest!!!!!
PS Three good things
* A lovely restful week end
* safe travel.......Allan had a very wet and stormy drive from Skye to pick me up.
* a beautiful full moon lighting up the countryside as we drove home!
Your mum & dad are an example to us all Sallie, always busy & living a very useful & contented life. I think living in a close community with familiar things around you & of course a caring family to make sure all is well! Beautifully written labels too.
@happypat Thanks Pat and I think her writing is amazing! Mum had a slight stroke about 10 years ago and lots of weaknesses come to the surface since then but the labels show just the same writing as I remember on the front cover of my homework books when I was little.
Arthritis has taken its toll and she can't knit any more....which she really misses, but she doesn't complain and has a friend who does lots of knitting so sometimes buys items from her when she wants to give a handknitted gift - to new babies etc!
