Forgotten gate

Down below the High Street I noticed this old gate yesterday. It leads to a forgotten garden below a very historic church. I don't think I'd ever noticed it before and it's rather sad that it has become so neglected.
Today I think we need to treasure places that have been special at some point in the past.
Three good things
1. A long life well lived. Our Grandad Bremner died in hospital this morning. He was 92 and had been husband to Grannie for over 60 years, Dad to Allan for 59 years and Grandad to our 'B Team' for 30 years. We will miss him even though we didn't live close enough to visit very often.
2. Sunshine again and lots of strawberries and raspberries in Dad's garden ready to eat!
3. The joy of nephews and nieces ...my sister and her 4 young people arrived today from near London. So lovely to have hugs from them again as we haven't seen each other for 2 years!
Great find Sarah

Beautiful! My sympathies to your family as well. It sounds like he will live on though in the love he gave to his family. Enjoy your family visit!
