Waternish view

This was the view from Auntie Mary's house on the west of Skye looking across The Minch to the Uists and Benbecula. Grandad (Allan's Dad) used to say if you could see Uist it was a sign it was going to rain and if you couldn't see it that would be because it was raining!
But that's from someone who wasn't brought up here. Auntie Mary is 95 and has lived here for almost 40 years after being a District Nurse in Glasgow. She knows it well.
I love that her blue hydrangeas and pampas grass flourish there along with some more familiar plants.
And what a lovely time we had with her.
In spite of her failing eyesight and some other frailties, she has a wonderful way of telling great stories and enjoyed her lunch which we had brought for us all to enjoy.
Three good things
1. Driving in the sunshine through the fabulous countryside.
2. Sharing stories from now and then.
3. A little while with cousin Ewan and his wife Dorothy.....maybe one time we can spend longer with them!
Stunning, do beautiful and tranquil!

This is so beautiful! It’s especially wonderful that your aunt cares for her garden at her age! Oh my!
