A bright morning - good for getting out and about. A lovely drive to Crathes Castle, the only NTS castle open at this time of the year. Friendly staff team and delightful visit....so good to be back again. The sunlight really lit everything up, indoors and out, and even though the trees are bare and flower heads few and far between there's a special charm in the winter colours and structures.
Marina loved it all and was even given a guide sheet in her Ukrainian language.
Three good things
1. A dry day.... perfect for the occasion.
2. Lovely lunch at Milton of Crathes, and a browse around.....so much water in the River Dee, a week after the record breaking rainfall, and in fields nearby.
3. Culture swap..... sharing music and stories, and photos of our grandson when he was very small and Marina was his nanny.
