Pennan

If you know the movie 'Local Hero' (1983) about the beginning of the oil industry in Scotland then you may recognise Pennan which was the location for part of the film. It's on the north east coast and we love the sound and smell of the sea there, the pretty cottages and the walk along the street.
A few years ago there was a serious landslip and some of the cottages were damaged by mud and debris.
Three good things
1. A good morning in the garden - big digging and clearing out of overgrown stuff!
2. Haircut.......feels good!
3. A lovely afternoon exploring the north east coastal villages........last day of the hols but it's been lovely having Allan around more than usual this year. He has a couple of weeks before he starts back at work.

@gijsje @elmay Thank you for your lovely comments!
It was very quiet at Pennan......but then it is the end of October. Last time we were there we were with friends and the North East Open Studios event was in the village hall and the whole place was buzzing! The Pennan Inn is only open on Saturday and Sunday at this time of year and we only saw a couple of cars coming and going! I did rather like the knitted fish hanging on the washing line though!!
