The Women's Monument or Vrouemonument in Bloemfontein, South Africa, is a monument commemorating the suffering of some 27,000 Boer women and children who died in British concentration camps during the Second Boer War.
Two of my children live in London with British citizenship. I do not like war nor do I understand it...
I spend mothers day at home. My daughter took me to the monument to take photos for my challenge. This monument was the nearest place I could think of to visit. Only afterwards I realized it was mothers day at the woman's memorial monument here in Bloemfontein. Ha ha if you wonder? Yes it is me in the middle photo trying to take a photo. ( With a crutch in the photo....)I took all the photos but the middle one- by my daughter- just to show I did take photos.
A beautiful collage, Sylvia.
I remember history lessons at school about the Boerenoorlogen, but it's a shame that we never learnt about the women and children who died in concentration camps.
@gijsje I h passed, I had a good look. In every town more children died than adults. I just passed because I could not handle it at this stage... I still cant understand and see the use....
Nicely put together Sylvia. I'm so glad you included the one from your daughter. While the collage itself is interesting the reason for it is quite disturbing.
@maggiemae The chrutch is another story. I used to be a person - walking fast, doing everything fast. After the motor accident in July 2014 I found it difficult to walk. After many tests x-rays and you name it, they could not find real proof. I even spend time in hospital last year. The situation became worse about a month ago.Just stiff muscles in the upper legs. This causes it to be difficult to walk. No pain. Found it difficult to walk because my left leg seems to be weak. I think it is Fibromalgy, because I do not sleep well at night. I learned to live with it and tried avoiding lots of food etc. That it. No cure just go on! enjoy your day and thanks for asking.
@gerry13 Hope this meet the challenge.

I loved your response to my challenge :)
