A sense of scale

... or perhaps a balancing act. I'm in a nostalgic mood and while I still have the black table cloth out, and black tile, I decided I would take Granny's scale out of the cupboard. I still use this scale (with many of Granny's recipes) as I am more comfortable with it even if I do have to convert pounds and ounces to grams for more modern recipes, and cover the rusty old pan with a plastic bag for hygiene. My hubby has a new, modern, electronic scale that he uses, but I don't like it as much as this old one.
nice contrast of textures - and the amount of colour to monochrome is well judged

Lush lighting. And amazing that you still use the scales - they're lovely!

Wow, what a great picture of a wonderful device!

VML this and understand your attachment as I've got my mother's kitchen scales that were a wedding present in 1941. Mental note, must give them an airing on 365.

What a beautiful old scale! I don't blame you for wanting to use it.
