Hot Pot

Had fun playing around with my reflectors and natural window light this afternoon. The hot pot given to me when my Dad died end of November last year has proven quite challenging to photograph and control the reflections and light. I decided to pair it with an antique tea cup from what I have left of my Granny's tea set.
The black background works really well and I like the range of textures

VML this and particularly the cup's reflection. IMHO this views better on black, taking away the black 'band' under the shelf/table which draws my eye from the heart of the shot.

@narayani thank you very much
@s4sayer Thank you for the comment. Interesting to hear that the black under the shelf draws the eye away so thanks for that feedback. I will try shooting at a level to exclude showing anything under my "shelf" (which is just two old planks I discovered in my husband's woodpile in the back yard, balanced between a couple of small coffee tables. I liked the rough & rustic look of the old scrap wood planks compared with the sleeker shinier look of the tables in the house!). How do you view an image on black?
