We were booked into a place called TreeTops from Monday to Thursday, but on Monday they called us to advise the gravel road was flooded and impassable after the recent heavy rains. By Tuesday the river had subsided leaving the road muddy and slippery, but navigable so we were able to get there a day late. The cold front over the weekend had left a light dusting of snow on the surrounding mountains
@bf2016 Scenery - yes we do have some lovely scenery, and I suppose like any country a lot of the best is seldom seen by international tourists unless they are the type to go off the beaten track a little
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. Yes it was cold at night, and yes there was a heater in the chalets which we kept on all night. The days were quite warm though - I suppose that is why the snow was disappearing visibly from hour to hour
