Finalist

Proud day today. An oldie but still one of my favourites. I submitted this image to the portrait competition for the Canon Roadshow held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). I was one of 25 finalists whose entry was printed and displayed at the roadshow, attended by 1500 people. Unfortunately I wasn't amongst the top three who won fantastic prizes, but I guess it is still an honour to have had my entry printed and displayed.
Wow, that is quite an honor, and no wonder, it's a fabulous photo.

@narayani Thanks Narayani. I will do so. Have had a look at the link and it would appear to me they have a very loose interpretation of "Portrait", so that is useful to know. For me, a portrait is head and shoulders - with a face as the main point of interest, but I see some prize winners were full body shots showing the surroundings - so basically just people.

@narayani PS I really like the 1st place of the childrens' faces peering through the broken glass. Would love to do something similar myself one day if the opportunity presents

@seacreature yes, “portrait” has quite a broad range...google “environmental portraits”. Some of the ones from last year pushed it a bit far for me. But I reckon you should enter it 😄
