My eldest son is 15 and has been playing drums for 3 years now. He has become very good. He is also teaching himself Lead and Bass Guitar.
I am incredibly proud of him, and he's just been jamming in his den, so today it is his turn to become part of my 365.
Sam is the sort of son that every man wants. He is funny, clever, articulate, great company, loves football and cricket and is confident enough to give his old dad a hug every now and again. He is making his way in life and will go far. Maybe even as a drummer in his new band, PDST.
Its great you're so proud of him! Great picture. I still haven't persuaded my daughter to let me take a picture of her playing the cello, perhaps if I promise to focus in her hands she will let me, as this is very effective.
Looks great in B&W. My dad was a drummer in a jazz band, I'm a frustrated tapper on the desk but a paradiddle would defeat me. Good he loves music though curious what sort Sean?
@smm Thanks Lisa, both my kids have their moments, but on the whole they are wonderful and I couldn't want for better lads. @rockinrobyn That is so good of you to say that Robyn, I iwll try not to be self indulgent, but the lads will feature every now and then, they do define me. @louisefrance Thanks Louise, I think that focussing on the hands and the business end of the instrument is such a good way to capture things. @tamsg4 Thanks Tams. @simon0128 Thanks SImon, we are all close, we are quite a tight knit gang of 4! @runningbk Thanks Mike, can't get him to practise his paradiddles, but grade 4 is looming so maybe, just maybe. He loves all music, some of his discovery that he passes to me, and some that I pass to him. So at the moment both lads are into The Clash (Best band in the world ever IMHO!) and The men they couldn't hang, and Sam has been playing White Stripes and Clapton today on his 2 guitars.

I like the picture on its own, but you have to go and just be all mushy : P It's wonderful to read a dad speak so well of his son! And lovely to hear of such a 15-year-old.
How wonderful that he has found something he likes to do and is good at! All the best of future endeavors to Sam! And that's a great shot, too. Love the captured movement and energy. 8)
Love it, we have a home filled with music, from the piano, to drums and all the in between. We have also had young bands practicing here, which I enjoy... I must be mad. .
