As the words of the old TV advert go, "Thanks Crunchie its Friday!"
The Crunchie Bar is a cinder toffee/honeycomb bar enrobed in the world's best chocolate (IMHO), Cadbury's dairy milk. It was introduced by J.S. Fry and Sons in 1929 and later became a Cadbury's brand. It was made in Bristol until 2010 when production was moved to Poland.
I believe that a version of this is marketed in Australia and called Violet Crumble?
Probably best viewed large and eaten quickly.
No Chocolate Bars were harmed in the production of this image.
The best thing about this photo is that a mate of mine works for Cadbury's and I swapped a case of Beer for a case of 48 Crunchies with him yesterday! I've still got 47 left.
@esolvideosuk Well, I share a house with 3 significant others, who consume a significant amount of chocolate. Probably 2-3 months, by which time my mate will probably want some more beer!
Oh but they are not the same any more boo hoo bit like Kit Kat all wrong!! I adore Chrunchies , you guys will ahve a great weekend with 48!! fun processing, have a good weekend! :))
Sean, Violet Crumbles (first produced in 1913 by Hoadley's Chocolates here in Melbourne) have nothing on Crunchies. VCs are now made by Rowntree Hoadley which is now owned by Nestle.
We have Crunchies, in exactly the same packaging, made just up the road from me in good old Ringwood. There's an outlet shop which only members of clubs and associations are allowed access to. They get to buy all the broken bits and unwrapped goods at discounted prices so they can bundle them for fundraising. Been in a couple of times and it's soooooooooooo much fun!!
@sheliwithani Cheers Sheli, I'm glad you have Crunchies, they should be made mandatory in every country. We have a Ringwood in the UK too. Ringwood 49er is my favouite beer!
Great photo, like Sheli said, we have crunchie made by Cadbury but we also have violet crumble made by the company I work for (Nestle) and they are so much yummier IMHO!
I’ve never had a Crunchie although they do sell Cadbury brand here in the States. I might just have to make a trip to our “World Market” store and see if they stock them.
