This is great, I love the Victorian postcard effect and it's a great view of the Dove Valley.
The views from Crowdecote are brilliant and if you take the little road from Crowdecote towards Earl Sterndale, they get even better (just for future reference!)
I do of course know the hill - it's Chrome Hill, pronounced 'croom' locally and also known as the Dragon's Back - for obvious reasons!
@roachling Thank you Louise, that is very kind of you. One of my boys woul dbe up fo rthe climb, but the other likes his walking on the flat, but maybe one day we will get up there. Your shots are fabulous, and your blog is always enjoyable when I drop in on it.
I think you've just dug this up in an old museum ;-)
Seriously, it's astonishing Sean. The shot itself is terrific but the processing just adds so much. Very authentic!
Amazing effect and it certainly does look like a Victorian pc - it seems all the best processing is done with silver efex - my photo budget just seems to get eaten up by film!

That ridge hill running behind Chrome is Hollins Hill. You can see Chrome from other viewpoints in these link, just in case you're interested.
