We are now back from our week in Bournemouth. A very enjoyable week with Ben and our two nephews. I took photos every day, and will upload them over the next week or so.
My eldest son Sam is back from Jordan in the middle of the night, I am looking forward to seeing him, and hearing about his trip.
On the first day of our holiday we visited Stonehenge. It is one of the most visited places in England, with more than 1 million visitors a year. It was built 4,500 years ago in Neolithic times. The large stones were transported over 100 miles from South West Wales, and the builders had to set them across the River Severn at some point in the journey.
I was fortunate as a young boy to live less than 40 miles from Stonehenge. It has always held a fascination for me, and I was very pleased to take Ben, Matthew and Jono to visit.
I will post several other interpretations of Stonehenge in colour and B+W in the coming days.
Wonderful use of negative space in this, Sean. I've been there quite a few times myself and you've used it to such good effect to capture the feel of the place and the sense of space there.
Glad you enjoyed your week, looking forward to seeing more of your takes.
