Loughborough backstreets ~21

This is a new B+W [rocessing of an old shot.

This is a Loughborough backstreet, but the buildings have been demolished and the road is no longer called Aumberry Gap. This area is now part of an under construction inner relief road for Loughborough Town Centre. The construction is causing rush hour chaos in the town, so I hope that the planners have got it right in the long term!

Today has been a long day. The beer festival was a huge success, we sold out at the right time, so we maximised the funds raised for the kids school and Sam's hockey tour to South Africa in July. The money will be spent doing some good in a township.

Then I had to take everything apart and return all the barrels and kit to the respective breweries, so left home at 8-30am and got back at 2pm. Not my idea of a fun sunday!

Doesn't sound like a fun Sunday but it does sound like you had a fun Saturday night :-) Glad all went well and that you raised lots of funds...

Great shot, love the angle of this shot in the fact that the street sign is so prominent.

I remember what it was like being involved in such events when ours were still at school - you must be exhausted now! Glad to hear it was a success, makes all that hard work worthwhile, doesn't it?
Great pov and lines.

Half demolished buildings always fascinate me. Love the way the sign fits the photo

Oh my goodness, my husband's aunt and uncle used to live in this town for years. He worked for the Gas company.

Beer festival, sounds like great fun, but I know the afterwork is not so. You're a good man for your community Sean.

The low point of view emphasizes the destruction.

I'm so far behind on commenting, but am enjoying catching up. What a roller coaster you and your family have been on! This shot is intriguing as it shows such isolation.
