Clipstone Colliery ~ 13 by seanoneill

Clipstone Colliery ~ 13

After a few days break I am returning to my Clipstone Colliery series.

This is a shot of the main building, where you can see that Budleiia have taken over, the windows and doors have been smashed and the brickwork is starting to crumble.

I will post the colour version which has a 70s grittiness to it in one of my other albums.
Love the composition - and the black and white brings out such amazing different textures too.

Definitely one for b&w. Did you climb trough the windows? I guess this would look cool from the inside with slightly overexposed windows.

really gritty black and white here - does look to be crumbling away

Really has the look of decay about it, again the b & w brings out the grime.

Gritty mono, more urban decay, back to Nature.

I like the crumbling part of the building on the right. Gritty image well captured.

Like @lisatargowska I love the crumbling doorway on the right.

The b/w really adds a lot of grittiness to the shot. The building looks really down and out.

Such great textures. Looks like the plants will be heading through the windows soon.

I do like the bw better, really brings out the details

What a strong shot of urban decay. Very sad to see any building in this shape.

Great shot...the B&W really accentuates the state of the building...nicely composed and presented.

Nature reclaims! Love it! You have a wonderful collection of Clipstone Colliery shots here Sean. An exhibition of the framed prints would be fantastic!

I've visited a derelict factory near us today and will be posting a series of pictures over the next few days. This shot could easily have been taken there!! Great shot.

I always hate to see such a waste of a great building. Fantastic shot.
