Northern Flicker (?)

After going through my handy new Puget Sound Region bird book, I matched my photo to a bird named Northern Flicker. I may be wrong. What say you? Thanks for your visits and comments. Have a great weekend.

Gloria, I googled the northern flicker and here is a link to him. You are correct as to what he is and they are in the woodpecker family!! You captured an amazing photo of this beautiful bird! Definately a Northern Flicker, red shafted female I believe. When I was out there I got to see the yellow shafted one that was a treat for me. Nice capture!
