Does anyone know the name of this striking colored bloom? This bloom was part of a large plant filled with these blooms. This shot was taken yesterday at Lincoln Park. Thanks for stopping by :).
I agree with abutilon aka Chinese lantern. Mallow family, same as hibiscus, so very similar. I used to have both plants in the garden.
Abutilon generally has smaller petals that are more cupped and normally droop, whereas hibiscus will usually face upwards or laterally and have large, open petals. Beautiful flowers!
