I matched this sparrow to a variety of sparrow known as a male Chipping Sparrow according to my Puget Sound Region Bird Book. If any of you think differently about the variety name, please let me know. This shot was taken while the sparrow was perched on a piece of beach driftwood. I took this shot several days ago. Thanks for stopping by.
What a beautiful spot to catch him in - the colors are really nice. He's different from the chipping sparrows around here which don't have the flecked breast and do have wing bars. He's more like the song sparrows we have - Of course, if he's a juvenile that all changes :) I sure can't keep up with these birds! But do love your shot. Fav
Lovely sparrow shot. We have sparrows here but different I think. Some are supposed to be on the decline but here in the countryside they love living under our roof tiles. They have to live somewhere so I don't mind at all.
