Not a pretty view

This was the view out of our window today. Raging river and pouring rain. Later in the day it was reported Appleby and other areas in Cumbria were once more flooded. Third time in 2 weeks!!! When will this rain go away?

Oh my goodness, it's just been on the news about Appleby flooding again. I can see the river. It does indeed seem to be raging. Hope you get some respite soon.

It is awful as they have hardly cleaned out the last lot, never mind dried out. We have again luckily missed it but the river was out in the field and I had to lift daisy across as it looked a bit deep for her.

I think it's a very pretty view but not good about more rain. We have had flood warnings here today too. Like us you are on a hill so pretty safe but it's so heartbreaking to have your house flooded. As I drive along the road in St Michaeks it's weird to see the water mark three quarters the way up the hedge. Interesting building work going on there!

I sometimes curse living up a hill but when the river is raging I am quite pleased. The water you can see in the picture is not normally visible, it is just a gutter but with a lot of rain becomes a little stream and often floods the field. Tony and Peter I would quite happily send you some rain if I could, we have had more than enough now and there is a lot more to come if the forecast is right. Poor Appleby was flooded again yesterday, 3rd time this month.
