After shoveling a foot of snow out of my driveway from last evening until this morning, (8-9 inches Wednesday 3-4 inches Thursday) I drove down to my daughter's and couldn't resist stopping to grab some shots of these snow covered pines. It's amazing how much a blanket of snow muffles sound.
Have a look at large if you will: http://media.365project.org/1/3606065_befjmy0458_o.jpg
That's beautiful Skip....and I love the 'sound of silence' in the woods. Snow is great, the other is a really nice pine forest with a nice bed of pine needles.
@lynnb - Thank you so much Lynn! I can vividly remember when I was young staying at my grandfather's house. His house was surrounded by trees and on occasions when we got a heavy snowfall it looked like we were in a winter wonderland. It was so peaceful and quiet all you could hear was the sound of birds singing. You never wanted to leave.
@sweetcalliope – Thank you so much Jane for your kind comments. Snow is magical. It covers over all the dirtiness and ugliness that happens in the world, and it makes the world look clean and good.
@soboy5 - Thank you Danny!
@danette - Thank you Danette! I like that title better! I think I'll change it :)
@mtngal - We are in for more starting this evening through tomorrow. 2-4 inches which is okay with me. I can handle that :)
@kerristephens - Thank you Kerri!
@kwind - Thank you Kim! I think we are being punished for last year. We had very little snow and the temperatures last year were way above normal.
