White on White

The Word(s) of The Day. I was in the mall and saw this gentleman reading his newspaper. He had been reading, but he must have sensed I stopped and looked to see what I was doing since there was little traffic at that time. I originally thought about using it yesterday for "Time" since he was passing time alone. But, after I got home and looked at it I thought with the white bench, white walls and white floor it might be better for today's shot. I also liked the starkness of all the white broken up by the black molding and the man. I guess it could easily have worked for tomorrow's word as well, "Light and Dark." Thank you all for all the gracious comments on my "Reflection", "Love" and "Time" photographs! They are greatly appreciated!
I really like all of the white and the softness. The gentleman really stands out. I also like the single black line leading to him as well. Nice composition.

Nice shot, he looks a bit miffed at you

@mtpagano @soboy5 - I am not sure if he was miffed or if he is one of those people who always has a sour look on his face? My thoughts were that he was killing time waiting for someone, maybe his wife while they shopped. I wished I had my longer lens so I could have kept a safer distance.

Cool. My kind of mall. No shops.

@fueast - To the right of him is the entrance to Sears. The wall behind him is the outside wall of Sears which is one of the three largest stores in this mall.

Wonderful shot....did you talk to him after? Amazing that there were no interferences around for this shot!

@lynnb - No I didn't, but maybe I should have. Where he was setting was just to the side where two concourses intersect. On this end of the mall there is the big Sears behind him and on the other side are three smaller store. One in an antique store. So there isn't as much shopper traffic on this end.

The stark white is amazing. Love the punch of darkness. You are right--it could have worked for all three days.
