Visitor Type #5

A White-breasted Nuthatch or two have started visiting. They, just like the other small birds are in, grab and go. While it is nice to see them finally coming, we don't get to enjoy their antics that they do like hanging upside down to snatch a seed.

I think it is best when viewed on black.
That's a great image of this delightful little bird..

Beautiful… nice to see one that is not upside down… out at my feeders they always seem to be that way.

Great action shot! I love the background too. Looks like he's sprinting off to Starbucks.

They are fun to watch and you may get to see them go upside down if you have tree nearby where they like to crack open the seeds. Good shot!

@olivetreeann - We have another feeder on a shepherd's hook about 12 feet away from this one. It has a roof and these crazy birds, instead of landing on the bottom edge to get a seed will hang from the roof to get one. Nothing like making something relatively easy hard.

They do have huge claws - good for hanging upside down of course! Brilliant catch of the Nuthatch!

@maggiemae - They are acrobats. We laugh when we see one walking down the side of a tree like it's walking on level ground.
