Purple Dead Nettle by skipt07

Purple Dead Nettle

With the temperatures warming up we are seeing these in many farmers' fields. My wife looked them up and found out what they are. It’s called “dead” nettle because it won’t sting you and it is supposed to be good to eat. You can harvest dead nettle with abandon because it is an invasive weed from Europe that spreads like mad which makes sense since we are seeing in everywhere.
Interesting colours and textures.

Quite colorful! I see this everywhere, too. Thought it was catnip!

Looks really good on black. Popping up everywhere here as well!

This looks like 3D textile art and not a photograph. Super cool.

nothing much worse than an invasive weed...pity though, as it looks pretty amazing....

I just call this "weeds." I'm glad to know the name, and that it's edible!
