Waiting Her Turn by skipt07

Waiting Her Turn

The Cardinals and many other kinds of birds were busy at the feeder with the temperature dropping below freezing throughout the day.

Thank you for your kind comments and favs! I didn't mention it in my commentary, but this was taken with my newst lens that my dear wife bought for me for Christmas. It was delivered today and she allowed me to check it out to see if it survived shipment. It's a Tamron 150-600mm G2.

@alophoto - I did some research on this and a 100mm 1:1 macro lens. I was leaning towards the macro, but she thought that I would get more use out of it long zoom. I took about 5-7 photos of the birds at the feeder through the dining room window and this was the best. I have a 2x extender which I was using. It does have a harder time auto focusing when it's cloudy. I follow Tony and Chelsea Northrup and Matt Granger on YouTube. They did a review of this lens, both liking it and the. The G2 is a new design of the lens by Tamron with some tweaks. You can still buy the older version for less Adorama had some bundled accessories for theirs. I'll let you know more as I use it. Oh yes, it is heavy!

@skipt07 Congratulations on the Tamron! We have rented the G1 twice and was very pleased. We are saving for the G2. I can't wait to see more shots and hear how you like your new lens. Best wishes and many happy captures and moments.
