This Regal Moth or Royal Walnut Moth caterpillar reminds me of one of those Chinese dragons that you see in their parades. You may detect from the image that this is a good sized caterpillar which it would be since the adult has a wingspan of 3.75-6.1 inches (9.5 - 15.5 cm).
