Last year towards the end of Fall something went in the motor of my old tractor. I babied it until grass cutting season was over. I took it in to have a mechanic look at it and he told me that tractors are made to only last around seven years. He also told me to put a new motor in it or to replace the rings pistons and sleeves plus labor costs I'd have over half of the cost of buying a new tractor. Hence, I became a first time John Deere owner. I decided to edit the sorriness out of it to make it look more of a screamin' machine.
You did a great job with your editing! I hate having to replace something like that that's "needed" - not something fun that I want. Had to do that with my washer last week. ugh.
@milaniet - It's sad that so many things are made cheaply and don't last or aren't intended to last. Unless you are a handyman it costs so much for someone to fix things. Not that I begrudge paying for their time and talents. And now with so many things being made with electronics there are fewer backyard mechanics or Do-it-Yourselfers. And why is that things seem to break at the most inopportune times? Oh the lessons life has to offer.
This is a great shot of this. One of my pals has the nickname "Tractor" because he used to lecture at an agricultural college on just this kind of beastie! Love a John Deere!
John Deere takes on Nascar! The shot in the vote you felt looked like sepia was a borderline choice for me. The subject fit and looked really vintage. I have an effect in my photo program called "Romney" in the black and white category which looks exactly like this. I was wondering if any one would question it!
