it's the nature of things by summerfield

it's the nature of things

ashes to ashes, dust to dust, isn't it?

i really don't know what i'm doing or what i mean by this. all i know is i'm running out of things to shoot or ideas to execute. this one is by no means an original, i just saw something similar in the internet, and since the dried up roses from last spring were just gathering dust, why not put one to good use.

i suppose nothing can be done to this rose, it's dried and decrepit and well past its prime

"make up" is the theme this week over at five plus two. https://365project.org/fiveplustwo/365/2023-01-11
You photographed this wonderfully, I love the background! Very wabi sabi.

I had one like this today - they are a bit like a dried flower and so quite beautiful!

I have several roses like this that I have kept for years, literally. Maybe I’ll get one out and shoot it. I love the way you compose this though with fabulous light and background

I still have the rose hubby gave me when he proposed marriage back in 1992. Dried it and kept it in a tub..... I like this show. Roses suit drying out.

A nice shot

I have used the petals as pot pourri in the past. there is something rather appealing about a dead rose somehow. you chose well for your shoot.

I am extremely fond of all dead flowers (my aunt's comments on my housekeeping notwithstanding). This is beautifully melancholic.

I think it’s called wabi sabi. Nice capture of the last of the rose.
