American Skunk Cabbage by susiemc

American Skunk Cabbage

This is called Western skunk cabbage in the USA where I believe it grows wild. Here it grows in wet, boggy areas in gardens and parks. This is growing in a very boggy part of our garden. It's called skunk cabbage because of the distinctive 'skunky' odour that it emits when it blooms.
Super shot.

A super bright plant with such an unfortunate name -- it certainly brightens up any bog garden -- a lovely capture Sue !

Amazing colours. So acid. You wouldn't want it growing under your window then!
