Bananas? In Wales? by susiemc

Bananas? In Wales?

Today I went to the Botanic Gardens again with my friend Nicola. It rained most of the day so we spent a lot of the time indoors - in glasshouses and coffee shops. We had a very enjoyable day.
This was taken in the Tropical House. I don't think I've ever seen a banana flower before.

I'm completely up to date with both my albums for the first time in over a year. I'm sorry I've been uploading a few each day just recently.
After a very busy few months things seemed to have calmed down a bit and I'm able to spend more time commenting. Many, many thanks for all your comments and fav's. It means a lot to me, especially during those periods when I'm unable to reciprocate.
Looks so tropical and those bananas will soon be ripe ! Glad you had a nice day !

Lovely shot, our neighbour has got a banana tree in his garden, but it has to be netted because the bats and possums would eat the fruit.

Goodness, never thought I'd see bananas growing in Wales either!

Great to see, we have to bag or net our bananas as Babs says......birds/bats/possums/scrub turkeys all love them & take a bite out of each banana..

Great shot, not something I would expect to see in Wales. 😀
