This picture was taken yesterday when Doris was doing her best to destroy everything. This rhododendron is tough and it will take more than Doris to destroy it. I posted a picture of the first flower on the 5th February http://365project.org/susiemc/365/2017-02-05 but now the whole bush looks spectacular. It does seems strange to have a rhododendron flowering in February, at the same time as the snowdrops (see bottom left hand corner). I hope we don't get a harsh frost because it won't like that.

It usually starts flowering in February. Whoever planted it (before we were here) didn't really think it through because there's usually a frost while it's flowering and that kills the flowers. WE have to enjoy it while it lasts.
