Charlotte has recently started doing baton twirling and today she had her first competition. Her Mum sent me this picture. I don't know any details but apparently she won 4 medals, one for each event, and a trophy. I know that parents weren't allowed to take photos during the competition but it's nice to have one of Charlotte on her own at the end, with all her medals. She looks very pleased with herself and so she should.
@oldjosh@beryl@chimfa@gijsje@brennieb@dizzyd@foxes37 Thank you all for your lovely comments. Yes I am a proud grandma. Charlotte was part of a team and all the team members got medals but the team came third overall and that's what the trophy was for. Each member of the team gets to keep it for a few weeks and Charlotte seems to be the first.
Looks like she must be pretty good with the ribbons and trophies.. Good for her. Glad to see baton twirling is still around. Don't see much of it here except for the gals that lead high school and college bands on the field or in parades.. I twirled when I was her age..... I played n the bands, however......
@aglennc I don't think baton twirling is that common here. Actually I'd never heard of it. I thought it was the same thing as cheer leading but of course it isn't. I now know the difference!
