This is in our garden. While we were were away in Norfolk having a lovely holiday all sorts of things were going on here. The bunnies got up to mischief and ate all my lupins (11 of them, lupins that is, not rabbits, who knows how many rabbits there were) and they also nibbled through the base of a new clematis montana. Lots of flowers bloomed of course. We missed most of the poppies although our neighbours enjoyed them but this beautiful one waited until we came back. Apparently none of the others were like this one. I shall make sure I harvest some seed.
Bad bunnies, guess they thought you had left them a free buffet.
That is a beautiful rosy poppy. I thought I was buying one of those a couple of years ago but ended up with two very similar orange ones. :P
@gardencat Poppies are very unpredictable. My friend over the road gave me these seeds which she'd harvested from her poppies last year but they're all different, some single, some double, some half and half, some pink, some lilac, some like this one. None of them are like the parent plants which incidentally haven't grown this year. My friend would like me to give her some seed back :)
