We have a small alder tree in the boggy bit of garden behind the pond. It produces these pretty pink catkins at this time of year which seems a bit unusual.
Love the way you've done this. It's often a choice between showing the whole plant, or zooming in to show the interesting details, but you've solved that problem nicely here.
