I can't believe this amaryllis is flowering for a fourth year. When it finished flowering last year the bulb seemed to be going soft so I didn't hold out much hope for it growing again this year. Thankfully I stopped Chris from throwing it on the compost heap and we just left in a corner of the garden and forgot about it, as we have done in previous years. Three or four weeks ago I noticed it was growing so I brought it inside and this is what it looks like today.
This is an amaryllis with an especially strong will to live. Does make me feel a bit guilty about the bulbs I've thrown out after their one indoor flowering.
