My friend and I visited another very old, very small church from my little book of "Remarkable Churches". This one was built in the 13th Century. There's no electricity in the church so it was quite dark. I was surprised how well the photos turned out. To find the church we had to drive for 3 miles up a narrow single track road, up into the hills. Only once did we meet a car coming the other way and fortunately it was near a passing place. It really was in the middle of nowhere with a couple of houses and a farm nearby, in a very remote part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Quite an adventure.
How wonderful Sue! and such a find - these old basic churches , give me so much pleasure to see ,much more than the glamorous and ornate big buildings !In spite of its age and remote location ,it looks in immaculate condition on the inside and out! Is it still in use - I would imagine extremely cold in winter with no electricity -- perhaps paraffin heaters and a very short sermon !!!!!!!!!! fav
A great adventure well rewarded, Sue! Yes, like Beryl, I wonder if it is still in use. It certainly looks well maintained. And your shots give us many intimate views. Lovely! Fav
