Poor Chris working on/in his pond on this exceptionally hot day. He is making progress but the rainwater isn't helping, not that we've had much but what we have had isn't draining away through the heavy clay.
Whew !! poor Chris , hard work digging a big hole in clay in this hot weather - at the end of the day I hope you will give him a refreshing shower and a good massage !!!

He must be very persistant to keep on working in the hot sun. Lovely capture of him. It is even worse here, even though we ate used to hot weather. I cannot say i am in favour of killing bulls at bullfights but isn't fox hunting, bird hunting and all sorts of other killings equally disgusting.
@sangwann You’re absolutely right Dione, they are all equally disgusting and I just don’t understand how anyone can kill beautiful animals and birds for pleasure. Sadly this kind of thing goes on in most countries in some form or other.
