English Wine in the Making

A few days ago we visited Croft Castle in Herefordshire, not far from where we live. There's a very large walled garden there, part of which has been given over to a small vineyard. The variety of grapes is Phoenix and they're picked in mid October and taken to a local winemaker. The wine which is produced is a crisp dry white. I must find out where I can buy some.

Must be nice to drink wine produced in your own neighbourhood.

I thought you had excelled yourselves with your own wine Sue...only a matter of time I think before you are growing grapes!

I hope that when you find the wine it tastes as good as those grapes look!
