Restoration - pirate ship by swillinbillyflynn

Restoration - pirate ship

I found this very faded print in a charity shop and was instantly drawn to it. Prints of old naval ships are two a penny, but it is very rare to find one of a pirate ship. So I couldn't resist it Not at £4.50 anyway. The frame was also very nice and in good condition

So I photographed it and spent some time trying to tease the original colours out of the image. Not an easy job as pretty much everything other than the blues had been bleached out of it by the sun. However there was just enough of the original colours left to bring it back to life.

I have then printed it on A3 museum quality paper on my Canon Pro-1 printer who's ink is guaranteed not to fade within 100 years. (that's what cannon tell me...... and I probably won't be around in 100 years to dispute their claim).

It is now framed and takes pride of place in my nautical gallery which covers both sides of the stair case.

After 22 days without posting on 365 project, I'm on a mission to catch up.
Well done
