Taken on Andie's and my visit to Chinatown. This photo is one of the two Fu Dogs protecting what is now one of the Chinese churches. If you look at the cornerstone plaque just behind the stature, you can see it was originally a Catholic church in what was originally an Italian neighborhood. In fact, one of the occasional congregants was Al Capone's (as in famous gangster) mother.
What an interesting commentary on changing times. Really like the square format for this and the detail that you have brought out in the carving is remarkable. Lovely to see that wonderful stair rail too.
