You can see a few of them in this picture. There are about thirteen of the UFO looking Futuro houses in this tiny neighborhood. With what was at one point almost one hundred of the square like Venturo houses. Although now it seems like only forty of them.
As I said before and you will see over the next few days, many of them have been abandoned and fallen apart, with caved in roofs, mission floors, and collapsed interior walls.
It's a weird place though because some are maintained and lived in. Some have been remodeled to expand around the old unique structure. While some have been torn down all together with a new modern house built in it's place.
Surrounding this tiny neighborhood are large new seaside hotels. You can make out one in the background of the picture. Apparently a land development company has bought over half the houses in this neighborhood and wants to of course build a hotel there. However with so many holdouts, they are contemplating rebuilding some of the classic style homes and renting them out.
There is one that is for sale....but I'll tell you that story another day. Tomorrow, we take a look inside one of the UFO style homes. Get ready to see what it's like when "cool" and "claustrophobic plastic nightmare" meet!
