The Blog Works!

Was at Costco the other day and guess what I saw? Cinnamon buns! Yep they're back! If you remember back on July 6th I mentioned that for awhile they stopped having cinnamon buns and finally I asked one of the bakers and he said they are gone for good.

Well I guess my post worked, cause now they are back! So thanks to all three of you who read that post, and live in america yet contacted Costco here in taiwan to complain and get this problem solved.

Hmm....seems a bit far fetched. Actually I believe this was a case of voting with your dollars. Muffins are by far their best baked good and their best seller. The staples are blueberry muffins and chocolate muffins, then they will randomly have some other flavors. Well one new flavor is french toast muffins. I got these and they were quite good, good enough that I got them a second time. Best of all a lot of friends tried them and they enjoyed it, which is rare cause most taiwanese i know, don't care for cinnamon.

My guess is these sold so well, that Costco decided that people might not hate cinnamon as much as they thought, and be willing to give cinnamon buns another chance. While I was there I did see a couple of people say in a happy voice "oh wow cinnamon buns" then again i'm terrible at hearing the five tones of the chinese language, so perhaps they were saying it in a very angry way.

As for the picture, in the eye glasses section of Costco is this machine. While waiting for my friend to choose the right contact lenses, I watched many people use this machine. The big box is an "ultrasonic" cleaner where you put in your glasses, and for about 20 seconds the water vibrates, then you take them out, and soak them in the plastic box of water to wash them off, then dry them with the tissues. I was very skeptical but I finally decided to give them a try. WOW! it was amazing, as clean as the first day I got them. Now I have another stop to make on my route through Costco.
