I know it's hard to make out but in the window is a lady taking a shower. For those of you who would like to see more clearly, I apologize that that my phone seems to have a super power to make things look much further away than they really are. This "show" is one that I get everyday while looking out of my window. Although it's also the reason why I close my curtains after 10pm because i don't want to see this. Nothing against this lady, but in this apartment are also two guys and a grandma. Some things can not be unseen...
But whenever I happen to see this, I feel bad about myself and bad about Taiwanese people. Taiwanese are so scared of showing their bodies so I know that this apartment's inhabitants don't mean to be doing this, and would like to know about it so they can stop. However i feel bad about myself because my chinese ability is not good enough to really go over there and explain it. If anything it would probably just come off the wrong way, so they will have to wait another year before they can get help from me.
But this is also because in Taiwan you are not really supposed to help others. Whether it's helping an old lady across the street, or helping somebody pick up things they dropped off the ground, in this culture you do not help strangers. Meaning when you do help them, you are often met with suspicion. Which I figure is the reason why nobody else in my building has gone over to tell them about this. No doubt if I can see this, about forty other people can see this, but they haven't done anything about it. Almost like Kitty Genovese but without the murder, but almost more depressing as it's not "oh somebody else will do it, so I don't have to" rather it's "i won't do anything."
Why don't I have a friend go over with me? Because all of my friends are too embarrassed.
Also I'm a bit confused why their shower is in that room. there are many apartments in that building and this is the only one that has a shower in that room. Somebody didn't plan things out when they remodeled, i guess.

ha, i think it just shows my idiocy and my laziness, as I couldn't remember that the exact term iss called the "bystander effect" and I was too lazy to look it up. So I just went with her name.
