Not Sure What It Means, But I Like It!

Graffiti is becoming more and more common around Taipei, which I feel is a good thing. I like the idea of people being able to portray their feelings opening and freely to the rest of the world. Unfortunately most graffiti around the city is just people writing their names.

There are some who make some beautiful pictures. These are wonderful to look at, and bring a touch of beauty to the area, however I prefer graffiti to say something.

This is why I was so glad to come across this art of Yosemite Sam shooting his guns and wearing a belt buckle that says "NRA".

The only thing is I'm confused of what it's trying to say here in Taiwan. Yes it makes perfect sense to say that America is a society of rampant almost ignorant joy in having simple access to guns, and this picture would be quite apropos in the USA. But I'm having a hard time seeing why somebody painted it here in Taiwan.

Are they saying that Taiwan should continue to outlaw guns, so that it never becomes like America? Or are they actually saying that Taiwanese should be able to join in on the fun of gun ownership? Or it is just a poignant America bashing, which I wholeheartedly applaud. Lord knows there is plenty to criticize.
